A call for articles from Ilka Kostka, Managing Editor, SLW News
Dear Second Language Writing Community Members,
It's been a busy couple of months with conferences galore: International and affiliate TESOL conventions, the American Association of Applied Linguistics Conference, and the College Composition and Communication Conference in the US, as well as many other meetings around the world.
The editorial staff of SLW News invites you to share what you have learned at these conferences with your colleagues. Many people are unable to attend conferences due to budget, travel, and schedule constraints, and those who do attend cannot always get to all the presentations that they are interested in. If you have had the opportunity to attend, please don't miss this opportunity to disseminate information so that all TESOLers can benefit.
If you presented at a conference, please consider writing up your session for publication in the next newsletter. If you attended talks that enriched your understanding of practice or research, please consider crafting a summary of these presentations. If you saw a new book or digital media component in the exhibition hall, consider writing a review.
We also encourage submissions of articles, announcements, and brief reports focusing on any issue of interest to second language writing professionals, including but not limited to reports on classroom-based research, assessment, advocacy issues, teaching techniques, text/media reviews, and updates from less-represented contexts (e.g., Pre-K through 12, two-year colleges, community programs, and international K-12 schools).
Articles for the next issue are due on 30 June 2015.

Articles should:
—be no longer than 1500 words
—list the author’s name, affiliation, and email
—include a 50-word (500 characters or less) abstract, brief author biography (2-3 sentences), and a .jpg headshot
—contain no more than five citations
—follow the style guidelines in the Publications Manual of the American Psychological Association, —Fifth Edition (APA style)
—be in MS Word .docx format
—be submitted with all graphics in separate .jpg or .tiff files.
